PA materials can be made from lactam or from the polycondensation of binary amines and dibasic acids. Nylon was originally developed as a fiber material, such as nylon stockings, but later due to its excellent mechanical properties, such as high strength, rigidity and toughness, as well as good wear resistance and certain chemical stability, PA is also widely used in engineering plastics, in machinery, automobiles, home appliances, aviation and other industrial fields to manufacture various parts, such as gears, bearings and so on.
